The first time I realized I could really make money in a Focus Group was when I pulled in a sweet $300 for one hour of my time on the phone. I nearly passed out. 🙂
You might be wondering, “What is a focus group anyway?”
From Wikipedia: A focus group is a form of qualitative research in which a group of people are asked about their perceptions, opinions, beliefs, and attitudes towards a product, service, concept, advertisement, idea, or packaging.
That explanation made me want to stab my brain.
Simply put, a researcher (for products, businesses, medical studies, and more) will either ask you to come to a location with a group of people and answer questions, OR, they will call you and ask questions, OR they’ll direct you to an online questionnaire.
My personal experience with making money in a focus group has been over the phone and with online questionnaires.
Make Money in a Focus Group
The secret to finding focus groups that will pay you is knowing where to find the researchers because they aren’t going to come looking for you. (See our list below.)
You should expect to fill out plenty of info about yourself (so they can decide if you’re a fit for any focus groups in the future), and when they reach out to you, ACT FAST. There are others just like you who want to be chosen, too.
You also need to be patient. You may be turned down a few times before you are finally accepted for a survey.
Here are some focus groups you can sign up with to make money:
So get yourself in at least 1 Focus Group and see if you can beat my “score” of $300 in an hour! Challenge accepted?
